The founder of Stability AI, the company that released Stable Diffusion (An open-source free to use image-generation model), has already announced that they are working on something similar and presumably better:

The direction we’re heading in is clear. AI-generated video is coming. And it’s probably going to get better quite fast. We just experienced AI art taking over the internet. And AI-video’s are the next in line.
