Space robot. GITAI created the R1 lunar robot a remote-controlled humanoid bot on 4-wheels. R1 is designed to perform tasks on the moon like explore, build and fix things, and more. GITAI hopes to lower the cost of traditional human astronaut travel. R1 can maneuver over rocks and is equipped with “omni-directional steering.” During its tests on the Mock Lunar Surface Environment at JAXA.
