Control systems engineering company Lycaon Group has announced the launch of an Autonomous Hybrid (electric/hydrogen) Vehicle (Pictured, and video below).

The East Fremantle, Western Australian company said the new autonomous vehicle platform was part of an ongoing internal project which is now entering the field trial phase.

The company did not reveal the planned use for the vehicle platform.

However it engineers and manufactures a range of hardware and software products designed for remote and harsh locations such as mining sites.

  • Designed and developed custom manufacturing equipment to increase production capabilities
  • And provided the control systems for a hydrogen demonstration plant – a first-of-its-kind demonstration to test the technical capability of hydrogen as a dispatchable power source in remote microgrids.
